Curriculum
Every child at MBSS has a unique learner profile, this learner profile is identified by teachers through observing and identifying what a student’s strengths, interests and motivators are and then using these understandings to plan for and program sequences of learning that are multi-sensory and best support their engagement and development over time.
All students bring prior knowledge to the classroom; this knowledge will be identified by your child’s teacher through handover with their previous teachers and through a range of screening or data collection tools. This data is then analysed and used to inform and plan for what their next step in teaching and learning will be > which then becomes a One Plan goal.

Australian Curriculum
For students who are at foundation level > teachers use the ACARA curriculum to plan for and report on their achievement across key learning areas.
ABLES
For students who are not yet at foundation level we use ABLES (Ability Based Learning Education Support) to guide the next step in development for your child. This means that we can track and monitor the progress they make over time through engagement in evidence informed play-based learning program.
If you want to know more about the teaching and learning cycle at MBSS feel free to speak with your child’s teacher.
