Our Staff
Welcome from our Principal
Ms Vicki Smith, School Principal
As the Principal of Murray Bridge Special School, I’d like to welcome you to our school community.
At Murray Bridge Special School we empower our learners to actively connect with their world. Our educators are committed to recognising and nurturing each learner’s strengths, interests and needs.
At Murray Bridge Special School, we believe strong partnerships with our school community are the foundation for every learner’s success. We are committed to building respectful, supportive relationships that recognise the individual strengths and needs of each learner.
We provide a differentiated, strength-based curriculum which supports every learner’s journey—respecting their needs, their voice, and embracing their full potential. Our practices are guided by a deep understanding of evidence-based research to support the educational achievement of our learners. Our staff acknowledge and support complex communication needs, with a strong emphasis on play-based pedagogies, the development of daily-life skills and importantly sensory regulation to support learner well-being and engagement.
We understand every learner is unique, and take pride in offering individualised learning experiences that support growth, independence, and well-being. Our staff are dedicated advocates for our learners, committed to creating a positive and welcoming environment where every learner can thrive.
Together with our school community, we aim to nurture independence, confidence, and a genuine love of learning in everyone. Our school is a place where everyone belongs.
